The Fabulous Fox

I haven't posted a blog update lately because we have been quite busy over the summer. Trent has been playing like crazy inside and outside. He has been playing so hard that sometimes he just crashes on the spot.

We have had lots of fun with water toys: swimming at Mawmaw's, the water table and our new sprinkler have been hours of fun. Our first attempt at the slip and slide had mixed results. Trent liked getting wet but didn't really get the slide part. He would just run up and lay down. We are still working on the slide part. I'll spare you the photographic evidence of me trying to show him how it was done. I'm still planning my revenge on Dan for taking those.

We had a big night out on the town Friday evening. We went to the "Fabulous" Fox Theatre to see Nickelodeon's Storytime Live. Trent really loved going to the theatre and the show. I would like to show you a picture of his face during some of his favorite bits of the show but I can't because my camera was confiscated because I forgot that you are not allowed to take pictures inside the Fox. Not really confiscated, but I did forget before the reminder that they give at the beginning of the show and got sternly reprimanded.

Other than that I have been busy fostering my Pioneer Woman obsession. I am obsessed with her website and daily blog posts but now I am also on a baking binge of recipes from her cookbook that I received as a Christmas gift. I intend to try all of her cookbook recipes (except for the vegetable dishes of course!) Today I tackled my biggest project yet and made cinnamon rolls. They turned out quite well if I do say so myself. Although I do have to say that even I had to question if that much butter is really advisable. Also, I couldn't believe how much it made. If anybody wants to come over to my house as an overnight guest, I can ensure you a tasty breakfast!

Trent was a great helper making cinnamon rolls. He got to fill his own pan. He also was pretty impressed with our end results. After he took his first bite of rolls he said, "Not bad Mom, not bad at all"

Hope everybody has a nice weekend!
