Mother's Day

This is my mother's day present from Trent. It was a perfect gift and I love it! He picked it out himself at Rural King. Before he and Dan left to go to Rural King on Saturday Trent told me, "we are going to Rural King to get you a blue watering can". When he got back he said, "Can I give you your watering can now?" On Sunday morning, Dan reminded him to wish me a happy mother's day to which he turned to me and said, "WE GOT YOU A WATERING CAN!" About 10 minutes later he came running in hiding something behind his back and said "Surprise!" and gave me my gift. Needless to say, I was very surprised and excited to get a GREEN watering can!

Trent knew that I needed a watering can because he has been helping me pretend to have a green thumb.

I did two more pots for the other side of the house and also I bought this rose bush that I was going to plant in the corner here by the steps. However, I am not sure that area gets enough sun. I don't know how much sun rose bushes need. Anybody?

I'm looking forward to enjoying my flowers while sitting on my new deck furniture.

We built our deck 2 years ago over Memorial Day weekend. As is common at our house, it took us that long to get around to picking out and buying furniture. We ordered our furniture a few weeks ago from Clark's Country Oaks in Waterloo and we are really happy with it. I guess the Illini lawn chairs will just have to serve as tailgate furniture from now on as they have been demoted from being our deck furniture.

While I have been working on flowers and organizing furniture, Trent was busy building a garage for his two most prized possessions.

  1. I know nothing about roses. I put mine in the ground, leave it alone, trim it back in fall or spring if I forget to in fall. Occasionally I pick a rose. Mine is in full sun up next to the bricks so I would say they like to be warm.

  2. I would like to be able to enlarge the Disney collage.

  3. I know. It was just an experiment and didn't turn out very well. I will have to figure out how to enlarge it. Thanks for the comments!
