Fair Week & Zoo Visit

This week was the Monroe County Fair.  Trent loved the fair and begged to go each night.  Dan was already there almost every day helping with the Jr. Beef show and we also ended up going almost every night this week.  Given how close we live to the fairgrounds and how happy it made Trent to be there it seemed silly not to take advantage.  It was hard to get Trent away from the tractors but he did also like to look at the animals and ride the cars.

Yesterday afternoon Dan, Trent and I went to the STL zoo.  It was a perfect time to be there because the animals were very active.  This picture was taken just a few seconds after a hippo scarred Trent for life.  It swam up and put its nose right up to Trent's.

The best part of our zoo visit was the stingray exhibit.  You could reach right in and touch them.  Trent loved to watch the stingrays and wanted me to touch them but didn't want to touch them himself.  They were so friendly and felt surprisingly slimy.
