Trent's New Room

We recently moved Trent's room.  The first step was deciding how to decorate his new room.  It took quite awhile to convince Trent that he didn't want green walls with fire.  I was pushing for a geography inspired room with maps and globes.  Finally, we were able to compromise on a sports decor.

There is absolutely 0% of this room that is an original idea.  Every item and every idea is courtesy of Pinterest.  Even so, I am pretty happy with how it turned out and surprised by my ability to execute on somebody else's creativity!

The first step was cleaning out the "purple room" which had become our place for collecting all matter of things.

Next, we got to work painting.  I had a great "helper".  Good-bye purple room!

My dad and another Pinterest tip helped me with the stripe.  Green for Trent's favorite color.

A little personalization

New ceiling fan

These hexagon shelves are one of my favorite parts of the room

Papa Jim made Trent this rack for his Hot Wheels for his birthday

I am most proud of this football field bulletin board

A few close-ups of some of my favorite features:  stuffed balls strung from ceiling

Bulletin Board:  Don't look too closely it isn't exactly to scale

Trent keeps his most special treasures in these shelves; his soccer trophy, hockey puck and pictures of his cousins

This is the one part not completed, I am still looking for new knobs for the dresser

And of course, the most important feature of a new bedroom....

An adorable boy all snug and cozy with his favorite animal friends
