Every once in awhile, Dan and I forget that we are anti-social and plan an outing that we regret as soon as we get there. I think that it is mainly out of guilt that we are turning Trent into a homebody like we are. Anyway, last weekend we went to the Day out with Thomas in Granite City. We were all super excited because ever since Trent's birthday he has spent every waking and sleeping moment thinking about, playing with, and talking about trains. It was a bit of a let down in our opinion because the tickets were kind of pricey and Trent spent the entire time playing with the exact same toys that we have at home!
This is as close as we got to having a picture taken of Trent with Thomas. Notice that one essential part of the equation was missing. He was over playing with the exact same toys we have at home.
The day included a 20 minute train ride being pulled by Thomas. This is Trent contemplating the fact that we were actually being pulled by a green diesel and not Thomas.
Trent playing with the train table. What is amazing is that Trent is not the only "Thomas Geek" out there. That place was full of little boys all wearing Thomas shirts having in depth conversations with each other about shunting, steamies, slate cars, and Skarlooey. It is an international phenomenon.
