Chattanooga Day 4

We had a very full day on Wednesday. We started by going to Ruby Falls, which was the one Lookout Mountain attraction that we didn't have time for on Tuesday. This place was AMAZING, it really was one of the most beautiful sites that I have ever seen. The walk to the waterfall was pretty interesting seeing the cave formations and the tiny tunnel where the original explorer had crawled through to find the waterfall but seeing the waterfall at the end was the big payoff and well worth putting up with our tour guides corny jokes. None of our pictures do it justice.
They have all the lights off when you first come up on the waterfall and then turn on the lights behind the waterfall. It was definitely a "BaBaBaBom" moment if Trent would have been narrating.

Dan and Trent in front of the fall.

This is the original passage that the founder crawled through. He was gone for 17 hours before emerging from the cave telling of the waterfall he found. He somehow convinced his wife, Ruby, to go with him the next day to see and crawl through that small passage with him. And all she got for her troubles was the falls named after her.

After Ruby Falls we went to the Tennessee Aquarium, everybody had been telling us how amazing it was and we were not disappointed. It was great. Trent really loved it because it was set up perfectly for kids of all ages. Dan and I were very impressed as well. The variety and quality of the exhibits were very impressive. It is definitely a highly recommend if you are ever in that area.

They have two separate buildings, the River Journey and the Ocean Journey. This is Trent running between the buildings. Coincidentally, this is about the time that Trent's sugar high from the cupcake that we let him eat after his lunch kicked in.

They had this amazing three story aquarium that had sharks and other interesting items in it. The best part was that they had these interesting viewing areas to get a full experience.

Trent pointing out the crab from a tunnel that brought you right in the middle of the tank.

After getting our fill of the Aquarium, Trent crashed in the car (cupcake must have worn off), so Dan and I took the opportunity to do a driving cell phone tour of Chickamauga Battlefield. It was so interesting and allowed us to feel that we had an educational experience. Especially after we had to run past most of the interesting reading material at the aquarium to keep up with Trent.

Since we were in Northern Georgia, I looked everywhere for Scarlett O'Hara but never found her.

We took turns climbing the 134 spiral steps to the top of this monument. It was pitch black from about steps 1-24 and once I made it to the top I didn't know if I would be able to make it back down I was so pathetically out of breath. The view from the top was worth it though.
